Secret location close to Simon’s home (New for 2025)
This is a new workshop location for 2025 and takes place in Lancashire in a location where Simon makes most of his videos. Because he regards the location so highly on a personal level, the location is only given away once your booking is confirmed.
Nestled in the heart of Lancashire, the site offers offers over 277 hectares of diverse and captivating woodland, gentles streams and still pools making it a dream location for photographers of all skill levels. From towering mature trees to tranquil streams and open glades, this woodland provides endless opportunities to capture the beauty and serenity of nature. The woodland boasts a mix of broadleaf trees, moss-covered paths, and seasonal blooms, offering a rich variety of textures, tones, and contrasts. This diversity is perfect for creating compelling compositions and experimenting with different styles. Despite its size, the wood feels intimate and peaceful, providing photographers with both inspiration and solitude. The variety of trails ensures that you can easily explore and find unique vantage points without feeling rushed or crowded.

Fitness Level – Easy
Ideal equipment: Digital SLR / 50mm macro, 100mm macro or 180mm macro.
Sturdy tripod (reflectors and flash if you wish). Kneeling pads such as those used by tilers come in handy for getting low and keeping dry. You can buy these here.
Meals not included, but there will be a cafe lunch stop
This workshops runs in spring and autumn so warm clothing and appropriate footwear is essential. A good stout pair of wellingtons will allow you to work in anything we might encounter
